Rock 2 : Anchors & Lead Belay

Protecting yourself as a lead climber or as a second is fundamental to all aspects of climbing. Modern protection devices, including stoppers, hexes, spring-loaded camming units, pitons and bolts, need to be experienced to be understood.

Learn how to place and remove protection and construct multi-directional belay anchors. Students will practice belaying a leader and learn the guidelines for protecting a pitch.
